The two-day trip begins with a flight to Varanasi. On arrival at Varanasi Airport, you will be met by our driver / representative and transferred to your hotel.
Varanasi, formerly known as Benares, is the most popular pilgrimage point for Hindus and one of the seven holiest cities. Considered the abode of Lord Shiva, Varanasi is situated on the banks of the River Ganges, which is believed to have the power of washing away all of one’s sins.
Later, you will proceed to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the ghats, crossing the local market (you have to walk through the market for 500–800 meters and a few down steps to reach the ghats), and witness the evening Aarti ceremony on the Ganges, performed daily by a group of priests at the ghat. They perform “Agni Pooja” (worship of fire), wherein a dedication is made to Lord Shiva, River Ganga (the Ganges), Surya (Sun), Agni (Fire), and the whole universe.
